The Organic Mutant Architecture Project

Organic Mutant Architecture is a project I have been developing for several years. I have always worked in art, architecture and design, exploring the relationship between technology and live organic forms in a meaningless, irrational environment. My work addresses the manner in which an inorganic element or any of its parts changes form or undergoes development, and the relationship between the organic and inorganic matter and where that inorganic matter prevails over the organic within.

This story is about the absolute mutation of our metropolis, reversing the process of evolution and turning things inside out. The end result is the unfolding of fantastic new architecture, and it draws whomever into the depths of a gigantic, dark, strange and absurd morphed grimy variegated skeletal, organic living reptilian defined as “Organic Mutant Architecture”.

There was fundamental insight in the visionary urbanism of the 1920s: skyscrapers defined the urban future, and New York, far more than any other place in the world, was the prophecy of the modern city. This work explored a vision of the future that swept American culture in the 1920s- a skyscraper city of monumental towers, multilevel highways, aerial transport, and densely developed commercial districts. Principally the projections of New York architects and planners, this new type of hyper-concentrated urbanism was set forth in dazzling images, not only in professional circles and publications, but in newspapers, books, magazines, art galleries, department stores, and movies.

NEW YORK MODERN in reverse…

There once was a place of monumental cities with towers that swept American culture… people were swept away and consumed by the machines and buildings built by visionaries and is now self- transforming or mutating into a fantastic Organic Mutant  Architecture Metropolis; it draws them into the depths.

J. F. Bautista, widely known as the Dark Artist, is a unique computer graphics artist who has worked in the 3D field for many years. 3D modeler, architect, illustrator, fine 3D surface materials craftsman, he creates emotionally intense digital illustrations. Determined to make his personality come alive, he frequently works with small groups to express his skills and not to be simply “a number” in a gigantic mechanism. J. F. Bautista fills his drawings with sprawling landscapes and bizarre inhabitants. More than just a collection of eye-popping drawings, Bautista's work comprises a visionary world, complete with commentary and a foundation in the mutation and beliefs of multiple transformations.
